Meet Dr. John Osborne, MD PhD FACC FNLA
The architect behind ClearCardio's “living autopsy” approach to heart and stroke prevention.
Three decades on one question
He's not an influencer who read a few studies. He's a Harvard-trained cardiologist, a PhD cardiovascular physiologist, and a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the National Lipid Association who has spent three decades doing one thing: figuring out how to see and reverse artery disease before it kills people.
After graduating magna cum laude in medicine and earning a PhD in cardiovascular physiology, Dr. Osborne completed his internal medicine and cardiology training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He then went deeper, doing post-doctoral work in the molecular genetics of inherited heart disease in one of the world's leading labs.
Early in his career he saw the same pattern over and over: people only “found out” they had heart disease in the cath lab or the ER — when the damage was already done. That pushed him away from a career in mechanical fixes and toward aggressive, data-driven prevention.
A pioneer of non-invasive plaque imaging
He became one of the early pioneers of cardiac CT and non-invasive plaque imaging, leading one of the first freestanding 256-slice CT programs in North America and later overseeing installation of the first 640-slice ATLAS system in the United States.
He has served as Director of Preventive Cardiology and Cardiovascular Imaging in multiple systems, run major clinical trials that changed global cholesterol and diabetes care, and helped shape national guidelines as a trusted voice within the American Heart Association and National Lipid Association.
